About me
Who am I? My name is Med and I live my Druidry in the landscapes of West Surrey and East Berkshire. I originally come from Kent where I lived for 27 years, until moving to Surrey in 2008.
I have been following a Druid path for the last ten years; sharing and teaching my Druidry to others though workshops, residential courses, Handfastings and conversations in the pub!
What is my Druidry?
Druidry for me is about attuning yourself to the natural rhythms of the land in which you live. Though learning these rhythms, you find yourself and your connection to the land. These in turn lead to a deeper connection; finding profound inspiration and awen with the unseen. My style of Druidry is hands on, rambling on the Heath amongst the birch and willow trees; walking along country lanes; making gifts and tokens for the Gods, Spirits and ancestors as I go. If I go for a walk and my jeans don't get muddy, I feel a sense of disappointment! Sometimes the term Shamanic druidry, 'fits' as a term that gives an essence of the path that i walk. Shamanic Druidry came also be interchanged with a word that i think i invested! Bushcraft Druidry. I enjoy sharing and learning from the seen and unseen; crafting fires, whittling woods, sleeping under the stars of the ancestors, all this is a way for me to commune with the spirits and ancestors of the land; learning their spirit and stories, guiding myself into self discovery.
Sharing? Throughout the year I run workshops drum making. I love to share the process by which a new spirit is crafted and brought into life with others . These workshops take place in varying locations across the south east of England - have a look at the workshops page for more information.
Groups I support.
Over the last few years i have been associated with Honouring the Ancient Dead (HAD) and the Your Local Museum project. This project was set up to investigate items within museum collections, specifically looking at ancient human remains. Over the last few years I have visited many museums in Kent to contribute to this project. Now that I have moved to Surrey my focus will also shift to honour the memory of the ancestors here. My work with HAD ties into my Druidry and has inspired me to sign up as a fund raiser for Survival International. Through this I will be dedicating some of my time to honour these living ancestors of mother earth.
